Do not open your door to strangers Secure your house well, particularly when sleeping or when you plan to be absent Do not keep money in your trouser pockets or outer pockets of your clothing when you are in crowded areas or using public transports. Also, hold your handbag or purse in front of you and make sure it is closed Verify the identity of strangers approaching you either as acquaintances of your relatives or on the pretence of chance buys Have the telephone numbers needed to contact the Police, Fire Brigade, close relatives, etc. at hand in case of emergency |
